Berlin start-up Ubitricity will transform up to 1000 street lights in the German capital into charging stations for electric vehicles. An additional 600 wallboxes will be installed in residential buildings and car parks in a pilot project supported by the economy and energy ministry (BMWi), .
Ubitricity has developed billing systems and EV charging cables that enable the upgrade of existing street lights into charging stations at low cost. The company won New York鈥檚 Local Climate Action Tech Competition in August 2018 and has already taken an order in London.
