A capacity market in Germany could cost two billion euros annually, RWE鈥檚 new CEO Rolf Martin Schmitz said in an interview with Rheinische Post. 鈥淭wo billion euros is not a lot considering that the power consumer receives supply security for all those days on which the sun doesn鈥檛 shine and the wind doesn鈥檛 blow,鈥� said Schmitz. A capacity market would be needed due to Germany鈥檚 nuclear phase out.
