Germany鈥檚 medium-sized businesses need to improve energy efficiency
Medium-sized businesses in Germany will have to further improve their energy efficiency in order to stay internationally competitive, according to a study by the government-owned banking institution KfW. KfW compared the competitiveness of over 2,200 small and medium-sized companies in ten of the world鈥檚 most important economies. German companies already fared 鈥渜uite well鈥� in terms of optimising their energy consumption but 鈥渁dditional efforts will be necessary in the light of rising energy prices in order to stay competitive and to fulfil national climate targets鈥�, the study said. While Germany鈥檚 medium-sized businesses overall were ranked first in the KfW鈥檚 鈥淐ompetition Indicator 2016鈥�, counterparts in the USA were 鈥渁t the top鈥� when it comes to implementing energy-efficiency measures.
